Can the disk cartridge of a failed hard drive be removed before the replacement is received?

Kaleidescape recommends that all disk cartridges be left in the server until the replacement disk cartridge has arrived. Do not remove a disk cartridge unless instructed to do so by Kaleidescape Support.

An Terra server cools properly only when all hard disk bays have their doors affixed (regardless of whether the bay is populated with a hard drive).

A Premiere server chassis cools properly only when every slot is filled with a disk cartridge (blank or those containing a hard disk drive).
