How do I delete a movie?

On-screen User Interface

The following steps describe the process of deleting a movie from the on-screen user interface on Strato systems and Cinema One (2nd generation). This does not apply to Premiere systems.

1. From any movie place (List, Covers, Collections), highlight the movie and load the Details page by pressing OK, or Enter.

2. Scroll to the bottom, and select More Options.

3. Choose Delete Movie or Delete Disc.

4. If there are multiple selections, choose the selection to delete or choose Delete All.

5. To confirm the movie should be deleted, enter the passcode. If the passcode was entered recently, or one is not being used, choose yes.

NOTE: This action is permanent, and cannot be undone. If a movie is deleted by accident, it must be downloaded, cataloged or imported again.

Browser Interface

The browser interface must be accessed from a device connected to the same local network as the Kaleidescape system.

Strato Systems
The following steps describe how to delete a movie from a Strato system using the browser interface.

1. Open a web browser and enter: 2. Click on the Movies tab.

3. Put a check in the box to the left of each movie title to be deleted.

NOTE: All movies on the list can be selected by putting a check in the top box.

TIP: To limit the number of movies appearing in the list, select a movie collection from the drop down menu at the top left of the page (the default selection is All).

4. From the bottom of the page, click Delete.

WARNING This action is permanent, and cannot be undone. If a movie is deleted by accident, it must be downloaded or cataloged again.

Premiere Systems

Deleting a movie on a Premiere system can only be done from the browser interface. There are two steps to deleting a movie – moving it to the Trash collection and emptying the Trash collection.

Moving Movies to the Trash Collection

Movies in the Trash collection will not appear in the Kaleidescape on-screen user interface, but are still present on the Premiere system. Titles in the Trash will be deleted, as necessary, as new content is added. The browser interface must be accessed from a device connected to the same local network as the Kaleidescape system.

4. From the bottom of the page, click Move to Trash.

 Emptying the Trash Collection

To free up space on a Premiere system, content in the Trash collection must be deleted permanently.

1. Select the collection labeled Trash from the drop down menu at the top left of the page.

2. Put a check in the box to the left of each movie title to be permanently deleted.

3. At the bottom of the page, click Delete Permanently.

4. Confirm the titles are to be deleted permanently by clicking OK.If you wish to delete all content at once from a Strato player or Cinema One, follow instructions in the article: How do I deactivate my Kaleidescape System?
