Troubleshooting front panel error indicators on Kaleidescape Alto and Cinema One.

Here are the four front panel error indicators that appear on Kaleidescape Alto and Cinema One.

When an error condition is met, the indicators will be lit solid as described below.

General

Cause: The disc inserted into the slot failed to be read.
Solution: Verify that the disc is inserted with the label facing up. Check that the disc is a Blu-ray disc or DVD (or CD on Cinema One). Clean the disc of any smudges or dirt.

Network

Cause 1The network connection is 10 Mbps, or half duplex.
Solution 1: Check that the component is connected to a full-duplex 100 Mbps or 1000 Mbps switch. Hubs and half-duplex switches are not supported.

Cause 2: No DHCP server is present on the network.
Solution 2: Check the network DHCP server to see that it is functioning properly and can be reached using the same connection used by the player. Check that a laptop computer can acquire a DHCP address from the same wired connection. Verify that there are available DHCP addresses.

Cause 3: Wi-Fi adapter is present on Kaleidescape Alto or Cinema One, but there is no connection to the wireless network.
Solution 3: Check that the wireless network is accessible using a laptop or other wireless device. Verify that the network password is entered correctly.

Hard Disk Drive

Cause: Hard disk failed.
Solution: Contact an Authorized Kaleidescape Dealer.

Temperature

Cause: The temperature is above/below the safe threshold.
Solution: Check for proper ventilation and clean a dirty component.
